DFPL Round 10: Lautoka Triumphs over Nasinu

Lautoka Triumphs over Nasinu at Churchill Park

Lautoka delivered a commanding performance to secure a decisive 4-0 victory over Nasinu in a Digicel Premier League Round 10 encounter at Churchill Park today. From the opening whistle, Lautoka demonstrated their intent, dominating possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities.

Their relentless pressure paid off early in the first half when forward Saula Waqa found the back of the net with a clinical finish, setting the tone for the rest of the match.

Nasinu struggled to cope with Lautoka’s pace and precision, often finding themselves pinned back in their own half. Despite their best efforts, Nasinu’s defense was breached again before halftime, with veteran midfielder Zibraaz Sahib doubling Lautoka’s lead with a well-placed shot from outside the box.

The home crowd erupted in cheers as Lautoka went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.

The second half saw more of the same, with Lautoka maintaining their dominance. Nasinu attempted to mount a comeback, but their attacks were repeatedly thwarted by a well-organized Lautoka defense.

Midway through the second half, Lautoka extended their lead further when Usman Omede capitalized on a defensive error to score the third goal. The match was effectively sealed when the substitute added a fourth, capping off a comprehensive performance by the hosts.

This victory not only underlined Lautoka’s status as one of the top teams in the league but also served as a stark reminder to their rivals of the quality they possess. Nasinu, on the other hand, will need to regroup and address their shortcomings as they look to bounce back in the upcoming fixtures.
