49ers Talk host Matt Maiocco suggests that the 49ers should begin preparing for a future without George Kittle.

Star 49ers tight end George Kittle is known to be superstitious.

When Netflix approached him to join the upcoming “Receiver” series, Kittle hesitated at first, focusing on his quest for a Super Bowl win with San Francisco in the 2023 NFL season.

“I was initially strongly against it,” Kittle shared in a recent interview on the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast. “I absolutely declined because I trust the Football Gods, and it just didn’t feel right.”

Netflix had requested Kittle’s involvement in the documentary series, which

showcases players on and off the field, approximately 10 days before the start of the 2023 season.

Furthermore, Kittle gave the season a shot despite having never watched “Quarterback,” the show’s predecessor, and came away impressed.

Even so, he wasn’t entirely persuaded until his wife Claire Kittle helped him see the opportunity in a different light.

Kittle remarked, “My wife Claire persuaded me to do it.” “She said, ‘Just consider that you can watch it again and show your kids this stuff in ten years.'” And I thought, “What the heck? That makes a very strong selling point.

“We decided to go ahead, and it was a lot of fun.”

On July 10, the streaming platform will launch a sports series that centers on Kittle, his 49ers teammate Deebo Samuel, and other NFL receivers Justin Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Davante Adams. Kittle was even more at ease with the whole thing because Omaha Productions, led by Peyton Manning, is producing the series.

Between time spent filming at practices, games, and even at home, Kittle and the other stars were free to leave out anything they didn’t want to appear in the series. Additionally, Kittle knew he was in good hands after viewing “Quarterback.”

“However, having never seen “Quarterback,” I went to watch it at last and thought they did a great job of showing just enough, in addition to giving you an inside look at the players,” Kittle remarked. “How about the exposure it brought Kirk Cousins?

Kirk was more than just a guy; he’s a great guy with a great sense of humor and a strong family bond. Is it true that everyone fell in love with him? I thought it was cool that it would only reveal your family’s background and show you an inside look at your life.

Kittle observed that it was made even easier by Samuel filming the show concurrently with him. Even though the 49ers faithful are aware that San Francisco suffered heartbreak at the conclusion of the 2023 season, the show will undoubtedly be entertaining with the two fan favorites up front.

“I think it’s really cool how they combined my story with Deebo’s,” Kittle remarked. “A significant amount of 49ers video is included. It’s a lot of fun. Really, I have no grievances with it.”
