JUST IN: Three players from the Gamecocks will represent the USA WNBA All-Star squad in 2024.

In 2024, three Gamecocks are going to play in the Team USA WNBA All-Star Game.

A’ja Wilson, Allisha Gray, and Aliyah Boston—three former South Carolina Gamecocks—will take part in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game, the league said on ESPN on Tuesday. The U.S. women’s national team will play the league’s All-Stars in the All-Star Game before going for its seventh straight Olympic gold medal in Paris this summer. Wilson, a star at USC, will play for Team USA. Boston and Gray will be members of Team WNBA.

Input from fans (50%) and current WNBA players (25%) as well as media members (25%) was considered in the All-Star voting process. The voting period was June 13–29. All-Star players were automatically selected for the game if they placed in the top ten. The WNBA squad was given the players who weren’t already on the roster for the 5-on-5 Olympics. To complete the 12-player All-Star team, the next 36 top ranked players were chosen by the league’s 12 head coaches.

Wilson will play in his sixth All-Star Game this year. The Las Vegas Aces standout was the league’s top vote-getter the previous two seasons and was an All-standout team captain in 2019 and 2022. Wilson averaged 26.5 points in the first month (second in the league) and 27.2 points in the second (first), earning him the titles of Western Conference Player of the Month in both May and June.

Having made her debut on Team Wilson in 2023 alongside her former South Carolina teammate and fellow Gamecock alumna Boston, Gray has now been selected as a two-time All-Star. With the Atlanta Dream, Gray is averaging 15.6 points, four rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. Last week, he reached 3,000 career points. Boston, the current WNBA Rookie of the Year, will participate in her second All-Star Game in a row. For the Indiana Fever, she averages 13.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per contest.

The match will be televised live from the Footprint Center in Phoenix on ABC on July 20 at 8:30 p.m.
