BREAKING: Sensational QB Caleb Williams declined to sign a rookie contract With the bears and explains His Decision.

Caleb Williams explains why he declined to sign a rookie contract.

The Chicago Bears selected Caleb Williams first overall in April of this year, presumably resolving their long-standing problem of lacking a real franchise quarterback.

The sole problem? Williams and the Bears have yet to sign a contract.

Williams was questioned over his contract status on Saturday while giving a speech at his “Caleb Cares Hero Awards” event, according to Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune.

Williams was also questioned about whether or not his contract status will affect his ability to report on time for training camp.

I can’t deal with that. That is being handled by my lawyers, my attorney, and the head of the Bears, among others, up there at the top. I’m not in charge of that role.

It’s important to remember, though, that Williams ought to be in charge of it because he doesn’t have an NFLPA-certified agent. Williams’ attorneys are not allowed to talk with the Bears in accordance with NFLPA regulations.

However, it’s important to note that similar incidents have occurred in the past, and the players’ association has overlooked them. Teams have been cautioned by the league to only engage with players in similar circumstances.

It’s important to remember that Caleb Williams is not the only well-known rookie who has not yet signed a deal.

Other first-round selections who have not yet signed are:

Chicago selected him ninth overall.
Minnesota selected J.J. McCarthy with the tenth overall pick.
Dallas Turner, chosen by Minnesota with the 17th overall pick
Cincinnati selected Amarius Mims with the 18th overall pick.
The fact that the Bears’ top two draft picks are still unsigned must be a cause for concern, especially with the rookie class expected to report to training camp this week.
