The New York Jets will stop at nothing to demonstrate that they acquired Aaron Rodgers in the best possible deal. How are they able to accomplish that? Win the Super Bowl.

The Jets have strengthened their offensive line around Rodgers in the off-season. A new weapon has now been added and is competing for a position on the roster.

The New York Jets Sign Former San Francisco 49ers Wide Receiver

Tanner Phifer of NFL Insider reports that:

Source: Isaiah Winstead, a former Renegades wide receiver, has signed with the #Jets. After a successful exercise, he was signed. Many congratulations, my friend!

In the NFL draft of 2023, Winstead did not hear his name called. Not even a rookie minicamp invitation went out to him.

The youthful pass catcher expressed his annoyance on social media on April 30, 2023:

6’4 210 moving in this manner. No UDFA agreement, no mini camp invite. The things I can do behind the scenes. This previous season, with 88 catches and 1100 yards… Thank you in advance, but God is perfect.

According to writer Paul Esden:

Winstead signed a contract to become a member of the San Francisco 49ers’ 90-man roster one week after the video was released.

Winstead was cut after the final roster cut after spending the whole summer with the 49ers. The gifted pass catcher was added back to the team’s 16-man practice squad after clearing waivers.

On December 7, the 49ers released Winstead. After a month, he became a member of the Arlington Renegades in the United Football League.

The union led to the creation of the UFL.

The union of the USFL with the XFL produced the UFL. The fact that Winstead scored the league’s inaugural touchdown adds even more distinction to his résumé.

Winstead made seven UFL appearances. In addition to scoring two touchdowns, he recorded 12 receptions for 175 receiving yards. Additionally, he had the second-best reception average on the squad, averaging 14.6 yards.
