Phoenix Suns Allegedly Sign Former NBA First-Round Draft Pick

TyTy Washington Jr. is coming off a year where he appeared in 11 games for the Milwaukee Bucks. He finished the season with averages of 1.3 points per contest while shooting 30.0% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point range.

On Friday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Washington Jr. will sign a deal with the Phoenix Suns. Washington Jr. was the 29th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft after one season of college basketball at Kentucky.

He finished his freshman season with the Wildcats averaging 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 45.1% from the field and 35.0% from the three-point range.

Washington Jr. has spent part of two seasons in the NBA with the Houston Rockets (and Bucks). His career averages are 3.8 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 35.6% from the field and 24.4% from the three-point range in 42 games.

As for the Suns, they are coming off a year where they were the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 49-33 record. They got swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the NBA playoffs. That said, the Suns have an extremely talented roster led by Kevin Durant and Devin Booker
