“IN HER 1st OF 2 GYMNASTIC EVENT”: Alice D’Amato wins the gold medal in the gymnastics beam final against Simone Biles.

Alice D’Amato wins the gold medal in the gymnastics beam final against Simone Biles.

After losing out on a medal in the gymnastics beam final, Simone Biles became enraged at the Olympic fans. The world-famous gymnast ended her medal dreams today in the Paris beam final when she stumbled and fell off the equipment. The 27-year-old started her routine off strong, drawing gasps from the audience as she fell off the beam in the French capital while attempting to win a third Olympic gold medal. After gathering herself to finish her routine, Biles received a score of only 13.100, placing her fourth ahead of Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade in the final run.

Gymnast extraordinaire Simone Biles was clearly displeased when she stormed back to the seating area at the Bercy Arena with her coach, accusing the audience of creating noises that weren’t essential for her performance. “Stop teasing!” She turned to face the crowd and raised her arms in a triumphant gesture. “Why do they all keep shushing?” When I leave, they start “shushing” me a lot.

Sunisa Lee, another American gymnast, retorted, “I don’t know why.” Do they [the organizers] instruct them to do so? Gymnast Craig Heap, who won gold at the Commonwealth Games, responded to the event on BBC TV, saying, “I’ve never seen Simone Biles look so angry in my life.” She was not content. In the arena, something has happened.

Simone is not at all content. It only serves to highlight her humanity. Every other female participant in the final has committed errors. She is not unbeatable.

As noted by BBC pundit Matt Baker, “She’s talking about the atmosphere.” She is discussing shushing. When the gymnasts are performing, this place has the atmosphere of a cauldron. Oh my god. During Biles’ routine, the audience seemed to be mostly silent, but a few fans shouted, “Come on, Simone,” which made the other spectators quiet. Biles ultimately placed merely sixth in the beam final, with Italy’s Alice D’Amato taking home the gold. She will return to the Bercy Arena at 1:20 p.m. for the floor final.

Zhou Yaqin of China won silver, while Manila Esposito, D’Amato’s teammate from Italy, took home the bronze. After the final, Biles was reported to have “marched off” in preparation for this afternoon’s floor final. Former gymnast Beth Tweddle of Great Britain stated, “We usually say about beam that whoever stays on wins a medal, and unfortunately that’s the way it’s gone.” “The final contained a great deal of mistakes.” That’s what happened when the two Italians walked out and performed their performances neatly.

“An Olympic final carries a great deal of pressure; one misstep could mean the end of the game.” It is not reversible. They were aiming for some challenging components. Prior to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Biles’s Tokyo 2020 ordeal dominated headlines. However, this week, she gave it her all to help Team USA win the team event.

In the individual all-around final, Biles maintained her strong performance, winning her second gold of Paris 2024 and sixth overall. After winning her second Paris gold, Biles debuted a new necklace that referenced her reputation as the greatest of all time: a glittering goat. When asked about her new jewelry, Biles told Eurosport, “I thought it would be really special if I got one made because a lot of people love calling me the GOAT, they always do.” I love it more because the people who despise it do. I have a special place in my heart for him, and I also have a plush goat from the community that serves as a constant reminder that I can accomplish this.
