There is little doubt that the San Francisco 49ers will be strong contenders for the Super Bowl coming into the 2024 season. This year will be more motivating after suffering a heartbreaking loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl (again).

To put it mildly, though, Brandon Aiyuk’s future remains uncertain. It seems like a transaction is becoming more and more feasible every day. The 49ers might receive a respectable return if that occurs.

In their most recent proposal, the San Francisco 49ers acquire a five-time pro bowler in exchange for Brandon Aiyuk.

Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com states that:

Ohio’s BEREA The Browns may be able to pull it off with a combination of an exceptional player and some draft picks if they are serious about dealing for 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk, a young All-Pro that they admire.

The 49ers could insert San Francisco’s five-time Pro Bowler Amari Cooper into Aiyuk’s position as their top receiver and continue their run towards the Super Bowl, so the Browns would almost certainly have to give him a chance.

Matt Maiocco went on to explain that the framework of a trade may already be in place: A league source told NBC Sports Bay Area on Monday night that the 49ers have negotiated the framework of trades that would send wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk to either the Cleveland Browns or the New England Patriots. Aiyuk will now have to decide whether to accept the contract terms from either of those franchises, the source added.

According to the source, Aiyuk was granted authorization by the 49ers to discuss possible contracts with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Browns, Patriots, and Washington Commanders.

Where Aiyuk ends up for the 2024 season and beyond will be interesting to see. He has made a name for himself as one of the league’s top WR2s and has the ability to be the star wide receiver in practically any locker room.
