That is all; formal reviews must be received for joint practices to take effect right away. That way, rather than having to deal with a careless error from someone wearing stripes, rookie Malik Nabers of the NY Giants and Daniel Jones will be free to celebrate when they connect for huge gains.
During the first practice session where the Lions and G-Men collaborated, Jones threw a bomb downfield, which Nabers skillfully caught. It was declared out of bounds, though. Hurry up! No. 9 (for the time being) was able to put both feet down, as you can see in the video below: Although it seems obvious that this will be “Mossed,” the decision was made to provide an incomplete pass. The New York team would not have needed more than two seconds to declare the on-field decision to be a complete farce if it were the regular season.
Despite having Ifeatu Melifonwu all over him, Nabers managed to outplay the Detroit safety. Even though this was declared out of bounds, Big Blue’s No. 6 overall pick has received such an incredible response that social media is exploding.
Nabers has been impressive all camp against the NY secondary, but this was his first opportunity to showcase his skills against a new defensive. He is fulfilling the hype so far and showing the Lions that his potential is limitless.
It is hoped that Jones and Nabers can continue to develop a great rapport as the preseason approaches. Then, it would be amazing to witness a touchdown or two and 100 yards for the speedster in the opening-week matchup against Minnesota. Oh, and Brian Daboll will be prepared to throw his red challenge flag into the field if he is denied any more grabs. Referees, rise above this.
