Regarding the comments made about CeeDee Lamb’s contract, Jerry Jones clarifies.

Following their team’s dominance by the Green Bay Packers in the NFL playoffs’ opening round the previous season, the Dallas Cowboys have drawn harsh criticism for their repeated postseason failures and for appearing to be a front-office inept organisation.

Despite having three of its finest players up for lucrative long-term contract extensions, the Cowboys are facing some difficult obstacles even if they might be in a championship window right now. As a result, superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has been missing from training camp.

Along with linebacker Micah Parsons, who is arguably a generational prospect, and standout quarterback Dak Prescott, Lamb is obviously eager to be compensated following his outstanding 2023 campaign.

But when asked about Lamb’s contract extension, long-time club owner and general manager Jerry Jones recently made some regretful remarks, saying there’s no urgency to get anything done. This didn’t sit well with the receiver or the ardent fan base.

Due to the overwhelming negative response to these dubious remarks, Jones, who will shortly turn 82, appears to be taking a step back and expressing regret via Yahoo Sports’ Jori Epstein.

I am very aware of the anxiety surrounding the question of whether you are missed or not. Jones remarked, “Well, CeeDee, you’re missed.”

The Cowboys executive staff appears to have done nothing to soothe the concerns of the team’s supporters before of the 2024 NFL season, as it is unclear whether Parsons, much alone Lamb or Prescott, will receive extensions.

With so many distractions off the field, it will be interesting to see how the Cowboys’ 2017 season plays out.
