Celtics star Jaylen Brown posts photos of underwater offseason workout
As the Celtics prepare for their upcoming title defense, Jaylen Brown seems to be getting ready in some unorthodox ways.
Rather than hitting the court, Brown posted photos of himself training in the pool over the weekend, with some unusual underwater work catching some attention on social media.
“Take this pic before I drown,” Brown captioned his post on Twitter.
The series of photos include a shot of Brown upside down with dumbbells in each hand, and another of him at the bottom of the pool with a dumbbell in one hand and a basketball in the other.
It caught the attention of Celtics legend Kevin Garnett, who tweeted: “Lord… [Brown] is under water with a dumbbell in one hand and a basketball in the other…. [expletive] might be over for everybody.”
It’s been a bit of a strange summer for Brown, who generated some buzz for his comments after he was left off the US men’s basketball roster for the Paris Olympics in favor of teammate Derrick White. White and Team USA, which also included Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday, won gold in Paris.
Brown was named Finals MVP in June after averaging 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists as the Celtics beat the Mavericks in five games.
