REVEALED: In the next match between Samoa and Fiji, two sevens players will make their debuts.

In the next match between Samoa and Fiji, two sevens players will make their debuts.

In the Pacific Nations Cup match on Friday, Samoa will face Fiji, and Mahonri Schwalger has selected two uncapped players to start, with two more to be on the bench.

Lalomilo will make both of their debuts on the backline. Lalomilo is expected to start the game for Samoa at outside centre. In Suva for the championship’s first round, he will play in the midfield with the seasoned Alapati Leiua. Earlier this month, Lalomilo competed for the Samoan sevens team, which placed eighth at the Olympics. Alongside fellow former sevens great Tuna Tuitama, who will start on the wing, he will make his debut.

Tighthead prop Brook Toomalatai and back rower Jonah Mau’u are also listed as replacements, meaning that two more debuts might come from the bench.

Theo McFarland of Saracens, who led the team to wins against Italy and Spain in July, will continue to lead the group in other positions.
