Eels Stars Celebrated at the Ken Thornett Medal Ceremony

 

 

The Eels celebrated their standout performers of the season at the 2024 Ken Thornett Medal presentation evening at CommBank Stadium.

 

Reagan Campbell-Gillard was awarded the prestigious Ken Thornett Medal as the Eels’ NRL Player of the Year, bringing his time with the club to an honourable end.

 

Clint Gutherson swept up a host of top honours, winning three major awards: Members’ Player of the Year, Players’ Player and the Coaches Award.

Shaun Lane’s outstanding work off the field, particularly in the mental health space, was recognised with this year’s Community Award.

 

The Rookie of the Year Award was taken out by Blaize Talagi, who became a regular fixture in the Eels line-up this year after progressing through the Parramatta Pathways program.

 

Young forward Brock Parker was named NSW Cup Player of the Year, having become a key player for Nathan Cayless’ team in 2024.

 

Dan Keir was earned the NSW Cup Coaches Award, following a standout season in reserve grade which earned him an NRL debut.

 

Rising stars Saxon Pryke and Teancum Brown won the Jersey Flegg Cup Player of the Year and Coaches Award, respectively.

 

Long-serving Eels staffer Don Musson was named Club Person of the Year for the second time, having also won the award in 2020.

 

The club honoured the players who achieved NRL debuts and milestones in 2024, as well as those departing at season’s end.

 

The Eels will celebrate their Female players at the 2024 NRLW Awards Night, which will be held at the conclusion of the Women’s Premiership season.
