Fiji 7s Star Ponipate Loganimasi Joins Fijian Drua: Olympic Medalist Set to Ignite Super Rugby Pacific!

 

 

 

Ponipate Loganimasi, an Olympic silver medalist, has officially signed a full-time contract with the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua ahead of the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season.

 

 

The 26-year-old from Ono-i-Lau, with maternal roots in Nabua, Savusavu, will join his Paris Olympics teammates, Iosefo Masi and Selestino Ravutaumada, in the Drua squad.

 

 

Loganimasi made an unforgettable entrance into the 15s format, scoring two tries in the Pacific Nations Cup final against Japan. Known for his electrifying pace and precision, he showcased his skills during the 2023-24 World Rugby Sevens Series, amassing an impressive 35 tries in a brief campaign.

 

 

Thrilled by the opportunity, Loganimasi expressed his excitement about joining the Drua and making his Super Rugby Pacific debut.

 

 

Drua Head Coach, Glen Jackson, praised the recruit, believing Loganimasi will bring a strong impact to the team, enhancing their performance and dynamic play heading into the 2025 season.
