During their bye week, the Dallas Cowboys are enmeshed in a great deal of upheaval and controversy. Jerry Jones has been on a tear and garnering headlines for all the wrong reasons following one of the worst home losses in the history of the team. The general manager and owner of the Cowboys are making a spectacle of himself and threatening to dismiss radio hosts as supporters are waiting impatiently for roster upgrades. The Cowboys would be searching the trade market for a new running back to add to the rotation if this team was being managed properly and had competent leadership.

Ezekiel Elliott has been a huge bust and Rico Dowdle has not lived up to expectations. Because of this, the Cowboys’ running game is the poorest in the league, finishing worst in terms of yards per carry, touchdowns, and rushing yards. Luckily for them, the Cowboys would be greatly improved by having a running back available. In his most recent piece, ESPN’s Bill Barnwell suggested a trade that would send Bears running back Khalil Herbert to Dallas in return for a 2025 sixth-round pick.
