Giorgi Mamardashvili and Federico Chiesa were the only two significant additions made by the Reds this summer, and neither player came at a huge expense. Although Liverpool had a calm summer, it appears that Anfield may soon embark on a spending binge. Liverpool attempted to sign Martin Zubimendi this summer, which would not have been an inexpensive transfer. Previously, the Reds made a £111 million bid for Moises Caicedo, but that money has not yet been used. It seems sense to think that a superstar acquisition would be conceivable at Anfield next season, and Florian Plettenberg reports that the Reds are interested in Florian Wirtz.

According to the writer, Wirtz wants to leave Bayer Leverkusen by the summer of next year. Liverpool is now in the running to recruit the Germany international, but Manchester City is currently leading the battle.

Florian Wirtz is of interest to Liverpool. Plettenberg claims that clubs interested in signing Wirtz include Liverpool. The German won’t be an easy target for the Reds to acquire, though, as usual.

Although Wirtz is wanted by Bayer Leverkusen, it appears like he will be departing the German champions in the summer.

Liverpool has the money to spend, but they will have fierce competition for Wirtz from teams like Manchester City and Arsenal, who have also reportedly expressed interest in the player. What is the price of Florian Wirtz? Although Wirtz is undoubtedly in high demand in the Premier League and throughout Europe, a player of his ability will not come cheap. Christian Falk claims that Leverkusen is seeking £125 million for Wirtz. That is accurate. Arsenal is a formidable rival. Florian Wirtz has long been a target for Arsenal, according to Falk.

“They followed him while he was still a young player at Koln, and now the interest is really taking shape once more. I doubt that they will be able to close this deal, though. Leverkusen is requesting €150 million, or £125 million. Will Arsenal really spend that much? I have doubts. After failing to sign Zubimendi and Caicedo, Liverpool ought to have that much money left over, but it’s unclear if they want to spend that much on a player like Wirtz.
