Bucks injury report vs 76ers: Giannis Antetokounmpo’s status for tonight’s season-opening game; Khris Middleton update, lineup, odds
The Milwaukee Bucks begin the 2024-25 regular season tonight in Philadelphia in taking on the 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center at 6:30 p.m. CT.
“I’ve been waiting for it since not making the playoffs last year and being home since May,” said new Bucks shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. “So getting an opportunity to come out here for a great start to the season to put ourselves in a position that we want to be in, it’s everything I’ve asked for. I’m ready and everybody else is ready, too.”
Is Giannis playing?
Probably. The two-time MVP is on the opening injury report with tendinitis in his right knee, but head coach Doc Rivers has said Antetokounmpo has participated in every practice during training camp.
What is the latest on Khris Middleton?
The three-time all-star has yet to practice in a five-on-five setting, so Middleton was ruled out for the season opener. Beginning Wednesday night, the Bucks will play four games in four cities over six days, so finding practice time may be difficult for the forward to be cleared for game action.
Are Joel Embiid and Paul George playing for 76ers?
No. The 76ers ruled their MVP center and newly signed all-star out for the game. Embiid is still recovering from an offseason knee issue that came up after the Olympics while George injured a knee in a preseason game.
