How have new Lions influenced the defense in the first six games?

Is the team’s depth sufficient at any position to allow for trading a player, or will it solely rely on draft picks if Brad identifies a desirable target?

The Lions have a solid depth in the secondary, but I believe any trade involving a pass rusher before the November 5 trade deadline will more likely focus on draft picks.

I anticipate the Lions will acquire help on the edge, but I doubt it will be a major deal involving a high-profile player and significant draft picks.

Instead, I see them pursuing someone versatile who fits the team’s scheme and culture while still allowing Brad Holmes to retain his valuable draft assets.

The Lions return to Ford Field on Sunday to face Tennessee, aiming for their fifth consecutive win.

A player who seems to go unnoticed is Amik Robertson.

What have you observed about his performance? His name hardly comes up, yet he appears to be a strong addition for us.

If you haven’t listened to my podcast from a couple weeks ago featuring Amik Robertson, I recommend it. He’s fantastic.

I believe he’s made a positive impact in the slot, bringing both toughness and confidence to Detroit’s defense.

This has also allowed Brian Branch to transition fully to safety, where he’s performing at a Pro Bowl level.

In six games, Robertson has permitted 19 receptions for 210 yards and allowed his first touchdown in coverage just last week against Justin Jefferson.

“As I mentioned during the game recently, when we go to nickel with (Carlton Davis III) CD, (Terrion Arnold) TA, and Amik, they are really challenging receivers right now,” said Lions head coach Dan Campbell when discussing Robertson. “I like his progress, and he’s improved each week.”
