With the NFL season approaching its midpoint, the trade deadline is also just around the corner. Teams have until 3 p.m. on November 5 to make final moves before the window closes.
There’s already been some action, particularly with wide receivers. The New York Jets recently traded for former Las Vegas Raiders receiver Davante Adams, reuniting him with his former teammate, Aaron Rodgers.
Following that, the Buffalo Bills added to their offense by trading for Cleveland Browns’ Amari Cooper. This move brought memories to Cowboys fans of Dallas acquiring Cooper midseason back in 2018.
More recently, the Chiefs made a trade with the Titans to get DeAndre Hopkins. Meanwhile, the Cowboys, known for once making aggressive moves, have opted to stick with their current lineup as they prepare for the second half of the season. Nonetheless, rumors and predictions continue around who “America’s Team” might pursue.

The newest player speculated as a target? New Orleans Saints’ edge rusher Chase Young. Kristopher Knox from Bleacher Report suggested the fifth-year player could be a good fit for the injury-plagued Dallas defense.
“The Cowboys, dealing with injuries to DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons, should have an interest in Young. Cowboys defensive line coach Jeff Zgonina worked with Young in Washington during 2022 and 2023,” Knox stated.
While there are valid reasons for Dallas to bolster their defense, this is one of those “ideal” trades from the national media that doesn’t fully consider the team’s current strategy. Such a trade would be an unusual shift for a team focused on a “Blow It Up” approach, assuming the Saints would even consider a fair return.
Owner Jerry Jones has voiced his support for the current roster, sticking with their established plan. Moreover, unless Chase Young — who has yet to return to his rookie form — could be acquired with little cost, it’s hard to envision a fit for him in Dallas.
