Around 2:30 am on Thursday, a fire started in a Noe Valley house. It spread to two alarms before the San Francisco Fire Department was able to put it out. The three-story structure at 1380-82 Sanchez Street, close to 27th Street, was the site of the fire. The three adults and two kids who resided in what looks to be a two-unit building managed to leave without suffering any injuries. Seventy firefighters were on the scene when the fire department arrived at 2:30 in the morning. According to the SF Fire Department, “Firefighters aggressively worked to keep this fire from spreading to adjoining homes, which proved successful.”
According to the agency, firefighters also had to deal with a live electrical line that fell from a pole onto the truck of the first truck company to arrive. The cable was promptly de-energised by a PG&E crew. The top level was eventually consumed by the fire, which seemed to start in the top-story flat. The lowest two floors had water damage. The department claims that the cause was “accidental/electrical,” and Captain Jonathan Baxter, a department spokesperson, stated that a wall heater was the fire’s origin. As of 3:02 am, the fire was contained.
