Saquon Barkley made franchise history, and the Eagles (6-2) held on after blowing a 16-0 halftime lead to win the fourth straight win game, 28-23, over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon.

Barkley had 27 carries for 159 yards and a touchdown. He also had three receptions for 40 yards and a score as Philadelphia continued their hot streak on offense.

Barkley had 199 yards from scrimmage on Sunday and has 1,071 yards this year — the most ever by an Eagles player through the first eight games of the season in franchise history.

The Eagles pass rusher played a limited number of snaps, but it was more about a hand injury suffered in pregame warmups and less about dissatisfaction with his play.

Nakobe Dean/Zack Baun save the day

Dean and Baun combined for 12 tackles, four passes defended, and two interceptions on the night.

Sirianni’s aggression almost cost the Eagles

The Eagles (6-2) held on for the win even after Sirianni passed up points, went 0 for two on fourth down, and were 0 for three on 2-point conversions, forcing them to let Jake Elliott try a 57-yard field goal with 2:16 left.

Elliott missed, giving the Jaguars (2-7) the ball at their 47-yard line.

Doug Pederson

Jaguars coach and Super Bowl winner Doug Pederson fell to 0-2 against the Eagles since Philadelphia fired him after the 2020 season. Even more pressing, Pederson’s Jaguars are now 2-7 with a game against the Vikings at home next Sunday.
