Exclusive: ‘World-Class’ Star Demands £10m to Join Manchester United
GIVEMESPORT reported this week that Manchester United are interested in the Canada international, whose contract with Bayern Munich expires next summer. However, his wage demands of £240,000 per week could be a major hurdle in securing a move.
Furthermore, Davies is requesting a significant £10m fee when he transfers to his next club, with the financial demands potentially deterring INEOS from pursuing the speedy 24-year-old.
This isn’t the only challenge for any potential deal for the ‘world-class’ player, as Spanish giants Real Madrid are still considered the favorites to sign Davies, meaning a move to Old Trafford looks unlikely at this stage.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Alphonso Davies is so fast, he has been likened to the ‘Usain Bolt of football.’
It’s understandable that United and incoming manager Ruben Amorim may look to reinforce the left side of the pitch ahead of implementing his preferred 3-4-3 formation.
Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are among the squad members who could fill the left wing-back role, but their injury histories suggest United might need to bring in a fresh face for the position.
Erik ten Hag, in his final press conference before being dismissed, revealed Shaw had suffered a setback in his recovery, and the England international hasn’t played for the club since February 18.
In Shaw’s absence, players like summer signing Noussair Mazraoui, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, and Diogo Dalot have filled in at left-back, but it remains to be seen if any of them could play on the left in Amorim’s 3-4-3 system. The more natural wing-backs, Mazraoui and Dalot, are both right-footed.
Davies isn’t the only left-sided player linked with United, as GIVEMESPORT sources also reported interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rayan Ait-Nouri.
The Algeria international has impressed this season, despite his club sitting at the bottom of the Premier League, contributing three goals and two assists in 10 league appearances.
