As Ruben Amorim’s arrival draws closer, David Moyes criticised his old team, Manchester United, for lacking grace when dismissing managers. Erik ten Hag is leaving, making room for a newcomer. Amorim is preparing to take over at Old Trafford, pledging a new strategy and mentality. In addition to becoming the club’s youngest manager ever, the 39-year-old’s appointment is the sixth managerial change since the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson left 11 years ago.

Amorim takes over for Moyes, who was the first successor to attempt, but failed, to fill Ferguson’s shoes. However, Moyes contends that the regular management turnover has tarnished what was once a club known for its unwavering traditions and values and hasn’t exactly produced the desired outcomes for United’s ambitious goals.

The traditions of Manchester United were incredible. “They didn’t fire managers and they brought in their own young players,” Moyes said on the Stick to Football podcast, which is sponsored by Sky Bet. “They didn’t do it when Sir Alex Ferguson wasn’t performing well. At the time [when I was there], they stood for something admirable, that this club signifies a little more than that little of class, which vanished. With Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Ten Hag arriving and going in less than a decade, life after Ferguson has been chaotic, according to the Mirror.
