On Sunday, November 4, the Detroit Lions defeated the Green Bay Packers 24–14 on the road. Nobody wants to lose a game, especially to a division opponent, so naturally, the Packers had some negative emotions following the defeat. Jared Goff, the quarterback for the Detroit Lions, is talking about the locker room teasing that took place after the game. In an interview with 97.1 The Ticket on Tuesday, November 5, Goff discussed the post-game trash talk.

Jared Goff Laughs Off Trash Talk

Elgton Jenkins, an offensive lineman for Green Bay, stated in the locker room after the Packers’ defeat that “the team that executed obviously won the game.” However, the superior squad didn’t. One wouldn’t consider such a sportsmanlike remark. Goff laughed and responded, “Yeah, I heard it, that’s alright, he can say that,” in response to a question concerning the brazen remark on the radio broadcast. Everything is fine.

Turning to the game, Goff talked about the experience of playing outside at Lambeau Field. It was probably the wettest and rainiest game I’ve ever played in, but I felt ready, so I did. Goff remarked, “I thought we were very ready. “We practiced with a wet ball all week, and I think it showed because I felt comfortable wearing the gloves and our receivers did too.”

“They had a handful of drops,” he continued. We didn’t. Some of the boys slipped. We didn’t. I felt that our coaching staff did a fantastic job of preparing us for the weather, and we were well-prepared. Despite the wind and rain, Goff had another outstanding game, completing 18 of 22 passes. He didn’t throw an interception and finished with 145 yards. Following the game, Goff discussed the significant victory despite the unfavourable circumstances in an interview with Erin Andrews of Fox Sports. “The dome team is who we are meant to be. “We come in here and win, and we’re supposed to be the team that can’t play outside,” he stated. Goff stated on the radio program that he has “been hearing it my entire life now” that he is not the best quarterback in inclement weather. “So, yeah, it definitely motivates me and our entire team.”

The Detroit Lions Prepared Hard for the Green Bay Game

Lions coach Dan Campbell talked about how the team prepared for the game because they knew they would be playing outside in what was probably going to be bad weather. The Lions “soaked the footballs” at practice last week, he claimed on 97.1 The Ticket, and it clearly worked like a charm.

“That’s how we operate; we had a wet ball for every team period, for individual, and for group,” Campbell stated. The wind was fantastic, especially on Thursday when it was buzzing outside, yet we didn’t wet the pitch. Thus, the elements were indeed present. Even though there was no precipitation, it was still fantastic since we had a wet ball, the wind, and the outdoors.
