The Fiji National Football squad is now the second-highest ranked squad in the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) after rising to 146th place in the most recent FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking. This is a huge accomplishment for the Bula Boys and the nation’s football community as it is Fiji’s highest rating since 2011.

Fiji’s victory over Solomon Islands in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers allowed them to move up four spots in the standings, surpassing their regional competitors.

The rankings also saw movement for other OFC nations. New Caledonia and Vanuatu both climbed five places, reaching 155 and 157 respectively, after wins in their World Cup qualifying matches. In contrast, Papua New Guinea slipped down to 171, its lowest ranking since 2018, due to recent results.

New Zealand continues to top the OFC rankings, moving up to 91 in the world—their highest position since 2016—following victories against Tahiti and Malaysia.

The October 2024 international window saw a busy schedule with 32 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, 47 qualifiers for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2025, 79 UEFA Nations League matches, and 17 friendly games.

These fixtures have contributed to the numerous changes in the latest global rankings.
