After sustaining an ankle strain in Week 10, Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher Alex Highsmith will not play against the Baltimore Ravens.

Alex Highsmith, an edge rusher, sustained an ankle injury with 2:16 remaining in Sunday’s Washington Commanders vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game, officially ruling him out against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11. He landed on his ankle while applying pressure to Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, recording his ninth quarterback hit of the season.

Highsmith was spotted wearing a walking boot following the game, and head coach Mike Tomlin said today that although the injury won’t ruin the season, Highsmith will be out for the Ravens game on Sunday and will be out week-to-week. Highsmith had another impactful season, so the Steelers are sad to lose him. Highsmith recorded 24 quarterback pressures this season and is ranked as the 10th best pass rusher by PFF, ranking above of Khalil Mack of the Los Angeles Chargers and close to Nick Bosa of the San Francisco 49ers and Josh Hines-Allen of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Thankfully, the Steelers were able to acquire Preston Smith of the Green Bay Packers before to the trade deadline, strengthening their pass rushers opposite T.J. Watt.
