Video Captures BYU Cheer Coach Hit by Water Bottle at Rice-Eccles Stadium
A video obtained by the Deseret News shows BYU cheer coach Jocelyn Allan apparently being struck in the head by a water bottle thrown by a fan at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
After BYU’s narrow 22-21 victory over Utah, footage recorded by Cougar supporter Jessica Hellewell reveals a water bottle being tossed and hitting a woman in the face. She collapses immediately as a BYU cheerleader quickly comes to her aid, assisting her to the ground while other members of the Cougar cheer team and police converge around her.
During the game and following BYU’s rivalry win, Allan and the cheer team were positioned on the southwest side of Rice-Eccles Stadium.
