Josh Allen Shrugs Off Chiefs Matchup: “Playoffs Are What Matter

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen isn’t letting the hype around Sunday’s matchup against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs get to him. While fans eagerly anticipate the showdown between two AFC powerhouses, Allen is keeping his eyes on the bigger picture.

“I know we haven’t beaten them in the playoffs,” Allen admitted. “That’s the only thing that kind of matters… We all know what type of player he is when he’s on the field. He’s one of the great ones.”

A Tough Rivalry
Despite several regular-season victories against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, the Bills have yet to conquer them when it matters most—in the playoffs. Kansas City has repeatedly been Buffalo’s roadblock on their quest for Super Bowl glory.

Allen’s individual performances against the Chiefs have been solid. Over his career, he has racked up nine touchdowns and just two interceptions against Kansas City. However, his 58.2% completion rate in those games is below his usual elite standards.

Sunday’s Stakes
The upcoming game is a test of dominance between two AFC juggernauts, but Allen knows it doesn’t define their season.

“None of this matters until the playoffs,” Allen’s comments suggest. The Bills’ focus is likely on staying healthy, refining their game plan, and preparing for a deep postseason run.

Why the Bills Still Have a Shot
Allen remains the heart of Buffalo’s offense, giving them a chance to topple the Chiefs—even on the road. His ability to make plays under pressure, combined with a talented supporting cast, ensures the Bills won’t go down without a fight.

Whether Sunday’s outcome foreshadows playoff success or just sets the stage for another postseason rematch, one thing is clear: For Allen, the real battle against Mahomes and the Chiefs lies ahead.
