BYU Fans Welcome Five-Star QB Ryder Lyons With Chant at LES
PROVO, Utah – Five-star quarterback recruit Ryder Lyons attended BYU’s Saturday night game against Kansas.
The elite 2026 prospect was making his second visit to LaVell Edwards Stadium this year, having previously attended BYU’s season opener against Southern Illinois.

The crowd shouted, “We want Ryder!”
Burton responded to the chants by making a heart gesture back at the student section.
Standing at 6-foot-2.5 and weighing 215 pounds, Lyons, from Folsom, California, is among the most sought-after recruits nationwide. He holds offers from major programs such as USC, Ole Miss, Oregon, Alabama, Georgia, and others.
This season, Lyons has played nine games, accumulating 2,003 passing yards and 33 touchdown passes with only three interceptions. He has completed 71% of his passes for Folsom High School.
Lyons was accompanied by teammates from Folsom High, including offensive tackle Vlad Dyakonov, who is also a 2026 prospect.
The day saw numerous high-profile recruits at BYU events. Earlier, five-star basketball recruit AJ Dybantsa attended the BYU vs. Idaho game at the Marriott Center.
