The offence continues to struggle with the Kansas City Chiefs receiving corps. Since two of the Chiefs’ best wide receivers are either sidelined for the regular season (Hollywood Brown) or the remainder of the season (Rashee Rice), injuries to the position are the primary cause of the team’s problems. One of their wide receivers, perhaps DeAndre Hopkins, needs to take over as Patrick Mahomes’ primary receiver if they want to go far in the playoffs.
The Chiefs added a young speedster to the practice squad after their defeat by the Bills.
A former second-round pick was signed to the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad.
The Chiefs added Tyquan Thornton, a tall, undersized, and lightning-fast wide receiver, to the practice squad on Monday, as Jordan Sigler of Gridiron Heroics previously reported. Originally selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots, Thornton played his first 2.5 seasons in New England before suffering injuries in his first two seasons and eventually losing his spot in the starting lineup in Year 3. The Patriots ended up waiving him on Saturday after failing to deal him over the NFL deal Deadline.
