Alabama LB Keanu Koht addresses his transfer in statement
Former Alabama linebacker Keanu Koht released a statement on social media shortly after entering the NCAA transfer portal on Tuesday.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people who have helped me along the way at the University of Alabama, including my coaches, staff, teammates, and supporters,” Koht said.
“The experiences, connections, and lessons I’ve gotten while I’ve been here are genuinely invaluable, and I will keep them with me for the rest of my life.
“After giving it some thought, I’ve decided that I’ve outgrown the shoes I used to wear here. Considering that I still have two years of eligibility left, I have decided to use the transfer portal. Although it was a difficult decision, I think this is the best one for my development as a person and for my future.
I want to express my gratitude to the people of Alabama for their consistent encouragement and support during my stay here. I will always carry the values, information, and wisdom I have acquired with me on my trip.
Koht has mostly been a reserve linebacker for the Crimson Tide since joining Alabama in 2021. Koht has made 14 appearances in 14 games throughout his four seasons with the team, amassing nine total tackles, three tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery.
