The Dallas Cowboys don’t seem eager to go all out to draft Shedeur Sanders in 2025.
According to Pro Football Network’s Abhimanyu Chaudhary, the star quarterback and his father, Deion Sanders, remain unlikely to reunite in Dallas.
“It’s unclear whether Coach Prime would leave Colorado to coach his son’s NFL team. However, if the Cowboys were to draft Shedeur Sanders, Jerry Jones has the influence to bring Deion into the NFL.
This would undoubtedly generate significant buzz, which Jones thrives on. Still, the odds of this happening are slim.
With their Week 12 win over the Commanders, the Cowboys are now 4-7, likely taking them out of contention for Sanders in the draft,” Chaudhary explained.
Even if Dallas trades up for the Colorado standout, their roster needs major upgrades to compete next season, and the draft is their best path forward.
While Michael Irvin hopes his former team will make a splash, the Cowboys would be wise to explore other options unless they land the top overall pick.
Jerry Jones effectively ended the Shedeur speculation by signing Dak Prescott to a four-year, $240 million extension before 2024.
Rumors about Deion coaching in the NFL should have been squashed after he denied interest, but figures like Irvin continue to push the idea in hopes of sparking change in Dallas.
