The Cowboys received a crucial injury update about the Giants’ quarterback situation ahead of their Thanksgiving Day showdown in the NFC East.

Tommy DeVito has only a slim chance to play after sustaining an injury in Week 12, with New York preparing for Drew Lock to take over instead. Despite being the backup, Lock is more experienced than DeVito, which could spell trouble for Dallas’ defense.

After a big win over the Commanders, where Mike Zimmer’s struggling defense performed better than expected, the Cowboys now face uncertainty about who will lead the Giants’ offense.

Giants Likely Turning to Drew Lock as Starter Against Cowboys

Following the release of Daniel Jones—who was swiftly picked up by the Vikings—the Giants turned to DeVito last week in a decision that didn’t pan out.

DeVito managed 189 passing yards with no interceptions but was sacked four times in a humiliating 30-7 loss to the Buccaneers. He’s not a dependable choice, and resting him might spare him from Dallas’ dominant defensive line.

Lock, on the other hand, has completed 59.5% of his career passes for 5,292 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 23 interceptions, adding five rushing scores. Given the Giants’ disastrous season, this matchup could allow Dallas to put an end to the Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen leadership in New York.

Although Dallas has underperformed this season, the Giants have been far worse. The Cowboys have little at stake, but forcing a rival’s front office and coaching staff into turmoil could be satisfying.

Whether Lock starts or DeVito makes an unexpected recovery, Dallas holds a clear advantage in the matchup.

Currently, the Cowboys are 3.5-point home favorites with -180 odds at FanDuel Sportsbook, equating to a 64.29% implied chance of victory.
