In just a few hours, the Detroit Lions will take on the Chicago Bears in their traditional Thanksgiving Day game.
Unfortunately, the Lions will be without their starting left tackle, Taylor Decker, who has been ruled out due to a knee injury sustained in last Sunday’s 24-6 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
Decker’s absence has fueled discussions about how head coach Dan Campbell will adjust the lineup.
One possibility would be shifting standout right tackle Penei Sewell to the left side, where Decker usually plays.
However, such a major change seems unlikely given Sewell’s dominance at right tackle.
Instead, the Lions are expected to start veteran Dan Skipper at left tackle, keeping Sewell in his usual spot.
Skipper, who has served as a reliable backup, will likely step in on the left side for Thursday’s matchup, offering stability against Chicago’s defensive front.
As a result, the Lions’ offensive line is anticipated to feature the following starters:
LT Dan Skipper
LG Graham Glasgow
C Frank Ragnow
RG Kevin Zeitler
RT Penei Sewell
Although this adjustment presents a challenge, Campbell and his coaching staff will count on Skipper’s experience to maintain cohesion.
With this lineup, the Lions aim to continue their Thanksgiving success and build on their winning streak.
