Taane Milne, a Fijian international, has signed a two-year contract with the Huddersfield Giants from the South Sydney Rabbitohs of the NRL. Prior to 2025, the 29-year-old will join England international Tom Burgess and utility back Jacob Gagai at the Giants. Milne has played 88 games in the NRL, including 20 for the Rabbitohs last season. Milne has previously played for the Warriors and St George Illawarra. “I’m really excited to make the move over there, my partner will come eventually,” added Milne.
I’m relieved that the lengthy procedure is now over, and I’m eager to start training and get to know the lads. The club was being praised by Tom Burgess, with whom I was speaking. With 10 tries in 22 games during his best season with Souths in 2022, Milne scored 24 tries in his 69 appearances with the team till the end of 2024. According to the team, he will begin preseason training with the Giants “in the coming weeks” after receiving his visa clearance. “I’m extremely confident that Taane will be an excellent addition to our squad and we are excited to have him join our club,” Ken Davy, the chairman of the Giants, said.
He performed extremely well in the recent internationals and we’re hoping he can continue that form in the Claret and Gold.”
