When the San Francisco 49ers play the Buffalo Bills in Week 13, they are severely injured. But at least Brock Purdy, their starting quarterback, will be back this week after missing Week 12 due to a shoulder injury. Prior to receiving full participation on Friday, he was restricted throughout sessions on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, head coach Kyle Shanahan said he expected Purdy to play. On Saturday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Purdy had a trouble-free Saturday and would play against the Bills.

On Sunday afternoon, the 49ers officially declared that Purdy was no longer on their list of inactive players. The following people will not play for San Francisco:

QB Brandon Allen (Emergency QB)

DE Nick Bosa (hip, oblique)

OT Trent Williams (ankle)

CB Deommodore Lenoir (knee)

LG Aaron Banks (concussion)

DT Jordan Elliott (concussion)

LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (knee)

It’s interesting to note that Purdy is starting this season and Josh Dobbs is the backup signal caller for the first time. If the 49ers decide to use a quarterback who is more mobile on the field, it might be a sign of some exciting things they can accomplish with their running game. After being listed as questionable, wide receiver Chris Conley (knee), defensive tackle Kevin Givens (groin), and cornerback Renardo Green (neck) are all active.
