BYU Football: Two Players Set to Enter NCAA Transfer Portal

BYU Football, Kody Epps, Transfer Portal…

PROVO, Utah – Two members of the BYU football team are planning to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Reports indicate that wide receiver Kody Epps is among the players entering the portal, along with former four-star tight end Jackson Bowers.

Epps is eligible to enter the Transfer Portal immediately as a graduate transfer, while Bowers will officially enter on Monday, December 9.

Kody Epps has one year of college eligibility remaining. Over five seasons with BYU, he tallied 73 catches for 819 yards and seven touchdowns.

During the 2024 season, Epps played in six games, starting four. An injury sustained in BYU’s victory at Baylor on September 28 limited his availability for the rest of the season. The former Mater Dei High School standout, who played alongside Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young in high school, now looks to finish his college career elsewhere.

Former Four-Star TE Jackson Bowers

Jackson Bowers played in five games during his two years at BYU, leaving with three years of eligibility remaining.

Bowers’ commitment to BYU in the summer of 2022 was a notable recruiting win, as he chose the Cougars over programs like Alabama, Washington, Auburn, Arizona, and Oregon.

Announcing his decision on X, Bowers expressed gratitude, saying, “Thank you BYU!!! I LOVE all my teammates and will miss them more than they know. Thank you for everything you have taught me and the lessons that I learned here. Thank you for accepting me into this family. Thank you to everyone that made my time at BYU worth it. Grateful for the opportunity to be a Cougar.”

The FBS Transfer Portal window opens on Monday, December 9, and runs through December 28, 2024.
