The Michigan Wolverines are riding a wave of success, and their momentum might carry over into the college football transfer portal. A standout quarterback has declared his intention to enter the portal, and Michigan is emerging as a potential destination.
The Wolverines recently secured five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, flipping the top-ranked player in the 2025 class from LSU. Now, Michigan may look to add an experienced quarterback to its roster.
ESPN analyst Max Olson has tagged Michigan as a possible “wild card” to land former USC quarterback Miller Moss. On3.com estimates Moss’ NIL value at $246,000, though this figure could rise with a limited number of quarterbacks available in the portal.
“Michigan feels like more of a wild card in this recruiting process because it’s hard to predict their next move with their QB room,” Olson commented Monday. “They’ve just made a major eight-figure investment in Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 recruit, flipping him from LSU to be their future leader.
“… If Moss becomes a top priority for Michigan, he might find it difficult to pass up the opportunity. Still, keep in mind he has started just 10 games in four years.”
Once highly regarded in the Big Ten, Moss entered the 2024 season with significant promise. However, USC benched him in favor of Jayden Maiava after disappointing performances. This season, Moss recorded 2,555 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions while completing 64.4% of his passes in nine games.
