In Week 15, the Pittsburgh Steelers travel across Pennsylvania to play the Philadelphia Eagles, a pivotal matchup. With the Eagles leading the NFC East with an 11-2 record and the Steelers leading the AFC North with a 10-3 record, it is somewhat of a measuring stick game for both teams. One of the main players on the Steelers’ hard-hitting defence is cornerback Joey Porter Jr.
Porter will be hurting from losing some of his money when he plays at Lincoln Financial Field. Porter’s needless roughness penalty against the Cleveland Browns in Week 14 earned him a $11,817 NFL punishment. After striking wide receiver Michael Woods’ facemask in retaliation during the second half of the game, Porter was fined.
Since it handed the Browns a first down and let Cleveland continue their drive, it was an expensive penalty at the time. But because placekicker Dustin Hopkins failed on a subsequent field goal attempt, the Browns were unable to score any points.
As they defeated their longstanding AFC North rivals 27–14, the Steelers were able to show their superiority for the entirety of the game.
