Mike McCarthy has received a vote of confidence from the Dallas Cowboys, but if the organisation decides to move on, they have been linked to a former NFL Coach of the Year.

Due to the Dallas Cowboys’ 3-1 record over the past four weeks, Jerry Jones gave head coach Mike McCarthy a vote of confidence, and other Cowboys players have been calling for his return. While some stories said the “whole team” was in favour of McCarthy, players were gushing about McCarthy and the locker room culture following the team’s most recent victory.

However, that hasn’t stopped individuals from making predictions about the team’s future leader in the event that their head coach leaves. According to a recent report by ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the Cowboys are linked to 2021 NFL Coach of the Year Mike Vrabel, who was fired by the Tennessee Titans two years after earning the honour and is presently a consultant with the Cleveland Browns.

“Mike Vrabel’s name is buzzy ahead of the coaching carousel,” Graziano wrote. “If the Cowboys decide to move on from Mike McCarthy, some people think the former Titans coach might be a contender in Dallas. Jerry Jones has yet to renew his contract, which expires after this season, but he still says good things about McCarthy.

Vrabel’s alma mater, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Las Vegas Raiders have both been mentioned. The Cowboys’ supporters would welcome a change of leadership, and since Vrabel is a seasoned head coach, he could infuse the team with enthusiasm.

The Cowboys could then restructure the offence in the offseason and look for a new offensive coordinator. The pursuit of Vrabel will be fascinating to watch, but it’s impossible to predict what Jerry Jones will do.
