After the Detroit Lions’ 48-42 loss to the Buffalo Bills and several injuries to key players, some fans are worried about the team’s future.
However, quarterback Jared Goff wants to reassure them that the team isn’t panicking.
“The mood in the building is fine,” Goff said during an interview on 97.1 The Ticket.
He acknowledged the injuries but emphasized that the team remains optimistic. “The mood everywhere else is like the sky is falling, but the mood internally is fine,” he added.
Fans have expressed concerns due to injuries affecting players like David Montgomery, Alim McNeill, Carlton Davis III, and Khalil Dorsey.
Despite these challenges, Goff stressed that the Lions will not use injuries as an excuse for poor performance.
“We refuse to use these injuries as an excuse and we’re gonna be just fine,” Goff said confidently.
He highlighted the team’s depth, noting that several defensive players have great opportunities to step up. “Offense, we’re gonna keep chugging along,” he added.
When asked about the team’s playoff aspirations despite recent setbacks, Goff remained optimistic.
“I’m telling you right now we can,” he declared. “Don’t be depressed, we’re fine. We’re 12-2, we’ve got three games ahead of us. We’re in good shape.”
Goff’s message was clear: While outside negativity may grow, the Lions’ internal mindset stays positive.
With three games left in the regular season, he expressed confidence in the team’s ability to face any obstacles that come their way.
As the Lions aim for the playoffs, Goff’s leadership and head coach Dan Campbell’s intense spirit will be crucial in keeping the team focused and motivated.
Despite injuries and other hurdles, the Lions are determined to finish strong and prove they can make a deep postseason run.
Goff’s assurance serves as a rallying call for fans to stay hopeful and trust in the team’s resilience.
With a determined roster and strong leadership, the Lions believe they have what it takes to succeed, no matter the challenges ahead.
