The Lions are determined to avoid letting injuries ruin their 2024 season. The Detroit Lions aim to honor the contributions of players who have suffered season-ending injuries by pushing forward.

Despite over 20 players going on injured reserve this year, both the roster and the coaching staff remain optimistic about their chance to win the Lombardi Trophy. In an appearance on 97.1 The Ticket on Tuesday, quarterback Jared Goff shared insights on the atmosphere at the team’s Allen Park Performance Center.

“The mood in the building is good. Yes, injuries have happened, but the outside chatter may make it seem dire. Internally, we’re fine. I mentioned it after the game: people will think things are collapsing, but that’s not the case for us,” Goff said. “We won’t let injuries become an excuse; we’re going to be just fine. We have all the necessary components. As Dan mentioned, many players on defense will rise to the occasion, and our offense will keep pushing forward.”

Earlier in the day, head coach Dan Campbell energized fans with an enthusiastic interview on the team’s main radio station. Goff pointed out that his passionate speech, filled with emotion, reflects the way Campbell talks to the team.

“He speaks candidly to all of us, and he’s being truthful,” Goff said. “He’s straightforward and genuine, and he’s right. If we reacted like those outside of us, we’d have no chance.”

The team anticipates getting back several veterans, like linebacker Alex Anzalone, before the playoffs. Thus, confidence remains high within the organization.

“I can assure you we can do it,” Goff stated when asked about the team’s ambitions. “Don’t worry, we’re okay. We’re 12-2, with three games still to play. We’re in a solid position.”
