During his visit to the Motor City this past Sunday, former NFL star J.J. Watt shared a daring and humorous offer he received from a Detroit Lions fan. Watt, who currently works for CBS, had a conversation with his fans during the Lions’ game against the Buffalo Bills that made them both giggle.
Watt revealed the humorous offer he received from a fan while visiting Detroit during his appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday. Watt claims that the fan made him an incredible offer of $99 million to play for the Lions when he came out of retirement. Watt, who has a good sense of humour, joked about the proposal without hesitation, stating that he would accept the offer if it were truly on the table. Watt quickly clarified that this was all in good humour, of course, but many were left wondering what would have happened if the fan’s offer had been sincere given the prospect of such a huge payout.
Watt also had the opportunity to see the famous Coney dog, a Detroit classic, while he was there. “When somebody puts a Coney dog in front of you, can you not eat it?” he exclaimed, gushing about the meal. The former defensive stalwart seems to relish Detroit’s flavour as much as his brief visit.
Even though Watt is currently working as a broadcaster, Lions supporters can still hope that their team can add another great player to their squad. Who knows, maybe that Coney dog will hold the secret to getting Watt back for one final season.
