WR Chase Roberts Announces Return to BYU for Senior Year
Sometimes the most valuable additions are the ones you already have.
On Saturday night, junior wide receiver Chase Roberts shared significant news on Instagram, confirming he will return to BYU for his senior season.
Roberts has been BYU’s premier offensive weapon this year and ranks among the top receivers in the Big 12. Over 12 regular-season games, he recorded 51 catches for 843 yards and four touchdowns. He still has the opportunity to boost those stats in next Saturday’s bowl game against Colorado. This season, Roberts had three games with more than 100 receiving yards.
With Roberts’ return, BYU’s offense is set to bring back starting quarterback Jake Retzlaff, leading rusher LJ Martin, and now their top receiver in Roberts. While the team might not make many additions via the transfer portal, they are retaining core players from a 10-2 squad ranked #17 heading into the Alamo Bowl. With key talent returning on both offense and defense, BYU has a strong chance of starting next season in the preseason top 25.
