The timing of the Baltimore Ravens’ comeback is perfect. The Ravens easily defeated their division rival on Saturday and are gaining ground going into the playoffs, even though they are still vying for the AFC North title with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Ravens are a team that no one will want to play in January, regardless of whether they qualify for the postseason as an AFC wildcard or as the division winner. In contrast to previous seasons, Baltimore’s No. 1 offence has been the team’s mainstay thus far in 2024. While Derrick Henry’s arrival has given opposing defensive coordinators nightmares, Lamar Jackson is playing at a level that has him in the running for a second consecutive MVP award.
The Baltimore Ravens have had the best offence in the NFL for the majority of the season thanks to the explosive tight end duo and the rise of Zay Flowers as a true No. 1 wide receiver. In previous years, the Ravens have advanced to the postseason by relying on a strong defence, outstanding special teams, and offensive running, but offensive coordinator Todd Monken has made room for Jackson as a passer. The biggest difference in 2024 is that the defence hasn’t been as dominant as it has been in previous years.
If the Ravens want to make the Super Bowl this season, they must find a solution in the secondary. But, regardless of how the 2024 season ends, Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report believes the Ravens will recruit an outstanding lockdown cornerback from the NFC this offseason. Ballentine believes Baltimore will find a way to sign Detroit Lions cornerback Carlton Davis.
