BYU Football Depth Chart: Alamo Bowl vs. Colorado
PROVO, Utah – The 2024 BYU football depth chart for the Alamo Bowl is here.

No. 17 BYU faces No. 23 Colorado in the Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio. This marks their first meeting since the 1988 Freedom Bowl. The teams will clash again next season in a Big 12 Conference matchup at Folsom Field in Boulder.

BYU holds a 10-2 record entering the game, while Colorado aims for its tenth win, coming in with a 9-3 record.

BYU football depth chart for the Alamo Bowl vs. Colorado
The final 2024 depth chart reflects changes largely due to Transfer Portal moves since it opened on December 9.

BYU’s right tackle starter
Weylin Lapuaho starts at right tackle for the Alamo Bowl. The usual guard stepped in at tackle during the Houston game, marking his first time in the position.

Offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick acknowledged alternate tackle options but did not specify them. Injuries to Brayden Keim and Isaiah Jatta prompted this adjustment.

With Jatta sidelined, Jake Eichorn, a Weber State transfer, is now BYU’s backup left tackle behind All-Big 12 honoree Caleb Etienne.

Strong safety starter
With Crew Wakley in the transfer portal, Raider Damuni takes over at strong safety. Damuni filled this role earlier against Arizona State when Wakley was injured, contributing 24 tackles this season.

Backup running back update
Hinckley Folau Ropati, injured against Houston, remains off the depth chart. Freshman Sione I. Moa is now the second option behind starter LJ Martin, followed by Enoch Nawahine and Pokai Haunga.

Defensive line adjustments
David Latu’s departure via the Transfer Portal removes him from the chart. Starters John Nelson and Joshua Singh take over. Blake Mangelson remains a defensive tackle starter, with John Taumoepeau and Sani Tuala filling second- and third-string roles. Luke To’omalatai, who played eight games this season, is absent.

Long snapper changes
With Dalton Riggs exploring transfer options, Cannon Skidmore starts as long snapper. Skidmore, rated highly in the 2024 class, has appeared in eight games. Backup punter Landon Rehkow is listed as his substitute.
