The 49ers had already stated that offensive lineman Jaylon Moore will not participate in the final two regular-season games of 2024, and they confirmed it on Wednesday. Moore was placed on injured reserve due to a quad injury, ending his fourth NFL season. Moore, who will be 27 years old, started five of the 15 games this season.
The 49ers signed offensive lineman Charlie Heck to a one-year deal to replace Moore. The 28-year-old made seven appearances for Arizona this season and was a member of the Cardinals’ practice squad. After being chosen by the Houston Texans in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Heck played for the team for four seasons before being cut loose in August. Late in the season, the 49ers’ offensive line has suffered. The final two games of the season will also be missed by guard Aaron Banks and left tackle Trent Williams.
On Monday night, the 49ers (6-9) play the Detroit Lions at home to finish the 2024 season. On January 4 or 5, they travel to play the Cardinals.
