As the Detroit Lions prepare to face the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night in Week 17, they released an encouraging second injury report on Friday.
With the game set for Monday, the Lions started their practice week a day later than usual.
On Thursday, wide receiver Kalif Raymond returned to practice as he works toward coming back from injured reserve (IR).
Despite dealing with numerous injuries this season, the Lions have seen positive developments recently.
Raymond’s return to practice is the latest example, and there were no additional names added to the IR list during the holiday week.
The team’s recent roster moves hint at the return of other injured players in the near future.
Late-season injury reports are often long due to the wear and tear of a full season, but the Lions appear to be in relatively good shape heading into this matchup.
Here’s a summary of Friday’s practice report (FP = Full Participant, LP = Limited Participant, NP = Non-Participant):
RB David Montgomery (knee) – NP
CB Terrion Arnold

OG Graham Glasgow (knee) – FP
WR Kalif Raymond (foot) – FP
LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin (neck) – FP
Montgomery remains absent from practice as he continues to rehab his MCL injury. He avoided season-ending surgery and may return for the playoffs, making IR unlikely.
Arnold, who missed Thursday’s practice due to illness, was a limited participant on Friday, signaling improvement and a strong chance of playing Monday night.
Glasgow practiced fully again on Friday, solidifying head coach Dan Campbell’s earlier confidence that he would return to the lineup after missing last week’s game.
Reeves-Maybin has steadily progressed since his surprise return to practice last week.
With another full practice logged Friday, it’s expected he will be activated from IR when roster moves are announced Saturday.
While Raymond returned to practice on Thursday, it remains doubtful he will be activated in time for Monday’s game.
The Lions currently have two open spots on their 53-man roster.
Encouragingly, there were no unexpected setbacks or additions to the injury report on Friday, which is a positive sign heading into the weekend.
The final injury report will be released Saturday, but the Lions appear to be in better shape than expected as the season winds down.
