If the Detroit Lions wish to be the first seed in the NFC for the playoffs, they have one goal in mind. A Lions victory over San Francisco and a victory or draw over Minnesota in Week 18 would secure the NFC North and the NFC’s top seed in the postseason, as the Minnesota Vikings had already defeated the Green Bay Packers at home in Week 17.

There aren’t many immediate repercussions from the Lions’ next Monday game against the San Francisco 49ers. The Lions would be the fifth seed and Minnesota would win the division, though, if they lose and/or tie with the Vikings the following week. Despite the fact that both teams are 14-3 because of the head-to-head tiebreaker, Detroit would win the division if it lost on Monday and defeated the Vikings. Detroit would have home-field advantage and a first-round bye if they were selected as the top seed.

The Lions were able to watch how the Packers vs. Vikings game would unfold because they were playing in primetime on Monday. But in Monday’s game against the 49ers, fourth-year head coach Dan Campbell was determined that his players will only focus on their own outcome.

It is, in fact. Our soul’s attention must be there,” Campbell stated. “We won’t have the proper mindset to enter this game and win if we begin to consider any other possibility or idea, dude. That is not possible for us.

Jared Goff, the quarterback, emphasised maintaining a level playing field for the final two games of the regular season. The Lions have maintained their 13-2 record throughout the season by concentrating solely on the opponent in front of them.

Goff clarified, “We’re going to play San Francisco at this stage of the season, followed by Minnesota, and then the playoffs begin.” “There are no breaks between those two teams right there. There are many challenging teams in front of us. “It’s now, playoffs kind of start now,” said Ben Johnson, the offensive coordinator. We have to attempt to find a method to win against a number of strong opponents when we play and travel again this week in a challenging environment.
