GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.— A Grand Rapids tattoo artist is flaunting his love for the Detroit Lions with a tattoo he created himself. “I just have so many already, and this is my passion,” Austin told me. “It’s what I do and I think it’s the best way for me to show support.” Brian Austin first opted to get the tattoo after the club won the NFC North last season.
“I think with the huge wins and just how the team has been doing already definitely inspires people,” Austin stated. He designed the tattoo himself, and this year he touched it up once more. He claimed that he enjoyed applying the tattoo himself and that it took him roughly an hour to finish. Austin added that he has always supported the club and that it was significant to him to have a lasting tattoo reflecting his devotion to them.
“I think it’ll encourage people to get more and other ones, I think it’ll inspire my other friends that are huge Lions fans to get them,” Austin stated. “I actually have already had two friends tell me that they want me to do them already.” He chose to honour his favourite player by getting Calvin Johnson’s signature inked beneath the Lions emblem that was already on his ankle. “I got it on my ankle since Calvin Johnson’s always been my favourite player since he started,” Austin explained. “But he’s such a good wide receiver position and him running, that’s kind of why I got it on my ankle.”
